Last year's report, the first to focus on rural DMOs at a national level, drew on 68 destination organizations across 16 states and captured a benchmark: budgets under a million dollars, one- and two-person teams, and visitation that keeps growing anyway. To build on it: this year we're surveying not only destination marketers but also operators and residents who shape rural tourism. We are excited to share a more complete picture of the rural tourism industry in our 2026 State of Rural Tourism Report, with your help.

Who we want to hear from:

  • Destination marketing organizations, CVBs, and tourism associations

  • Tourism businesses and operators: lodging, outfitters, farms, wineries, restaurants, attractions, and makers

  • State tourism offices and regional bodies

  • Chambers of commerce, economic development, and local government

  • Residents of rural or small-town communities

Individual responses stay confidential and are reported only in aggregate. Takes about 6–9 minutes. Open through October 15, 2026.
